Shirley "Kathy" Davis, 57 of Tolono, Illinois passed away at 7:41 A.M on Friday July 5, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Stone Creek Church, 2502 South Race Street, Urbana. Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M., at the church. Private burial will be at Murdock Cemetery, Murdock Illinois.

Kathy was born June 9, 1956 in Champaign to parents Russell and Shirley (Martin) Davis. They preceded her in death. She graduated from Villa Grove High School, was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Waverly, Tennessee.

Kathy is survived by a daughter, Melanie Stewart (Robert) of Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base, Oceanside California, and a son, David (Aisha) Wassom of Minot Air Force Base North Dakota. She is also survived by three brothers, Martin Smith, Jason Smith and Randy (Kim) Smith, sister-in-law, Paula Davis and four grand children, Joseph (Bri) Stewart, William Stewart, Nathaniel Stewart and Noah Wassom.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Rick Davis.

Kathy loved to read Stephen King books, paint and redo furniture, knit and crochet and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Her passions were her children, grand children and her dog, Gizmo. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Kathy will be missed by all who love her.
