Shirelly J. Smith 71 of Homer died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Champaign; Pastor Laurie Hill will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Monday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith was born on July 19, 1942 in Danville, the daughter of Harold and Peg Wait Julian. She was later adopted by George Brine. She married Robert R. Smith on April 24, 1992 in Champaign, he survives.

Also surviving are her children; Pam (Steve) Starwalt of Champaign, Vicki (Bob) Stipp of Villa Grove, Theresa (Gene) Hoffman of Urbana, Mark (Danielle) Parsons of Wisconsin, Rob (Marci) Smith of Champaign, Rob (Debbi) Danner of Homer and Margi (Jim) Eldridge of Sadorus, one brother; Bill Brine of Urbana, sixteen grandchildren; Ashley Wilkins-Parsons, Tyler Parsons, Nick & Cole Hoffman, Halie Starwalt, Toby, Kelly & Jacob Stipp, Leia Myers, Kennedi, Katie & Karsyn Smith, Alexandria & Noah Danner, Blake & Brett Eldridge, and five great grandchildren; Michael & Tucker McGarigle, Gabrielle Stipp, Isiah Wilkins and Kaylee Myers.

She was preceded in death one sister; Anna Ohalla.

Mrs. Smith graduated from Central High School.

She retired from Carle Clinic as an L.P.N.

Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Champaign.
