Shawn Christian Brenner, 42, of Urbana died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at home.

Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. Fr. Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Shawn Christian Brenner was born April 4, 1968, in Champaign the son of Frank Brenner and Ruth Christians. He is survived by his parents; a sister, Amy (Bill) Halberstadt; a great uncle, Alvin Christians; a nephew, Cody Halberstadt; a niece, Carly Halberstadt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leo and Patricia Brenner; and his maternal grandparents, Rudolph and Lorene Christians.

Mr. Brenner attended Holy Cross School and graduated from Urbana High School. He was a member of Labor Local Union and worked for Kirby Turner Masonry. Shawn was an avid fisherman and reader; he enjoyed cooking and was an accomplished gardener.
