Sharon Marie Morris 66 of Rantoul passed away at 4:07 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana with her family by her side.
A reception will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana with a short Memorial Service to follow.
Mrs. Morris was born on August 16, 1949 in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of Glenard and Marie Kelley Mecum. She married Stephen Morris on November 18, 1967 in Urbana, he survives.
Also surviving are one son; Kevin (Vickie) Morris of Thomasboro, one daughter; Kristin Dula of Burkburnett, Texas, her brother Jerry (Dee) Mecum of La Salle. Sharon had four grandchildren she loved dearly; Kimmy Schwartz, Stephen Dula, Colby Dula, and Lucas Dula. Sharon had many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She also had some very special friends.
She was preceded in death by her Parents and brother; Scott Mecum.
Mrs. Morris graduated from Champaign High School and attended the U of I.
She retired as a Benefit Plan Administrator for BPC, Inc. and Walgreen's as a Pharmacy Tech.
Mrs. Morris was a Christian and a member of First United Methodist Church, Rantoul.
Sharon loved crafting. Her many favorites included scrapbooking, quilting, and making Stampin' Up cards and crafts with her friends. She was an active volunteer for Quilts of Valor. She volunteered helping sew the quilts along with the presentation of the quilts. Sharon loved to go mushroom hunting and fishing with her beloved husband Steve. Sharon was a caring tenderhearted Mom and Grandmother to her Children and Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Champaign Humane Society, Paws without Parents and/or Hospice Hearts.
