Sharon Gail Eskew, 73, of Urbana died at 4:20 p.m., Friday, September 4, 2009 at home.

A private celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana is handling the arrangements.

Sharon Eskew was born March 17, 1936 in Grayville, IL a daughter of Irvin H. and Martha Pearl Hallam Campbell Sr. She married Ronald A. Eskew April 3, 1954 at Herald of Hope. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004.

She is survived by three children, James L. Eskew of Urbana, IL, Sgt. David L. Eskew of Ft. Hood, TX, and Sherry L. (Kirk) Eskew Banner of Urbana; three brothers Irvin H. (Sally) Campbell Jr. of Cherokee, NC, John Kenneth Campbell of Urbana, IL, and Ronald Dean (Kande) Campbell of Pesotum, IL; two sisters, Rebecca K. (Jeff) Campbell-Deem of Urbana, IL, and Virginia L. (Cal) Maxwell of Wenatchee, WA; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a cousin, Mary Grimwood.

Sharon Eskew graduated from Urbana High School. She worked for Illinois Bell as an operator until her retirement in October 19, 1990. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church, Telephone Pioneers of America, and Beta Sigma Phi. Mrs. Eskew loved cooking, flower arranging, her children, grandchildren, and her many nieces and nephews.
