URBANA, IL- Scott Plunk, 74, of Urbana, IL, passed away on August 1, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, with the funeral to follow at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, Aug. 7, at Clements Cemetery, Urbana.

Scott was born August 3, 1939 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee, a son of Lester Francis and Lessie Elizabeth (Nold) Plunk. Survivors include his longtime companion, Diane Gordon of Urbana, IL, a daughter, Regina Cox of Neoga, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Scott was owner and operator of Commercial Fence Company in Mattoon, IL for many years. He later worked for Cabot Corporation in Tuscola until 1993. Scott recently retired from the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District after twenty years of service in the Maintenance Department. Scott was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.
