Saysamone Phanrana, 81, of Champaign passed away Thursday, August 7, 2014, 7:21 p.m., at Carle foundation Hospital, Urbana. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A funeral service will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the funeral home. A walking procession to the on-site crematory will follow the service.

Mr. Phanrana was born March 13, 1933 in Pakse, Laos to parents Thep and Keo Phanrana. He married Thay Thepsourinthone in 1957, in Ban Yong, Laos; she survives. Also surviving are seven children: Manivone Bangsengthone (Bounlap), Thavong Phanrana (Panthong), Khamtanh Phanrana (Lori), Panchay Phanrana, Oulay Luyando, Phayvanh Demlow (Jason), Bounthieng Phanrana (Sony), all of Champaign, Illinois, one brother who live in Laos, eighteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Saysamone was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.

Mr. Phanrana worked for more than ten years at Bell Helmet before he retired.
