Sarah, 101, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2018, in Tulsa, OK.  She was born near Searcy, Arkansas on March 27, 1916, to John Alfred Holt and Alice Winona Pinaire, both deceased.  She married James Roy Roberts on October 1, 1936, who was killed at Okinawa on May 11, 1945, while serving in the US Navy during WWII.  She married Robert C. Chancellor on November 7, 1947, now deceased.

Sarah was preceded in death by her brother, Perry Felician Holt.  She is survived by her brother Wayne Johnson, Evansville, IN, her sister Bette Samuelson, Rock Island, IL, her son James Roy Roberts (Jr) and wife Janice, Sapulpa, OK, her grandson Arden Roberts and wife Joyce, Tulsa, OK, six great-grandchildren, eight great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah enjoyed most of her life as a homemaker.  Her home was always surrounded with flowers and being a dog lover, she always had a dog in her home.  Sarah was artistic and enjoyed pencil sketching, water color painting, and embroidery work.  Sarah was a very caring person and dutifully took care of her mother, mother-in-law, and her husband at their end-of-life.  She was a true Christian and enjoyed church and fellow Christian friends.  The family appreciated the help provided to Sarah by the First Christian Church and the Heart-to-Heart group, both prior to and after Robert's passing.

Visitation and services will be on March 3 at 1 and 2 PM respectively at Renner-Wikoff Chapel in Urbana, IL, followed by internment in the East Lawn addition of Mount Hope Cemetery in Urbana, IL.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the First Christian Church, Champaign, IL.
