CHAMPAIGN, IL- Saada Hamdy, 68, of Champaign, IL, passed away at 1:15 P.M., Tuesday, April, 21, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Saada was born March 31, 1947 in Alexandria, Egypt, the daughter of Said and Rabia Ismail. She married Hany Hamdy on August 17, 1972 in Alexandria, Egypt. He survives.

Saada and Hany came to America in 1974. She earned her Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Illinois-Urbana. Saada held various positions as a chemist. Her last position was a research chemist at the Illinois State Water Survey in Champaign for 17 years until she retired in 2007.

Saada was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Private graveside services will be held after the visitation. Condolences may be offered at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com.
