Ruth A. Worner, 101, of Urbana passed away at 6:45 p.m. on October 10, 2023 at her home. She was born on September 10, 1922 in Emden, IL the daughter of Henry & Anna (Miller) Reiners. She married Eldon Worner on May 26 in 1944. He passed away on March 13, 2006. Ruth is survived by  a son- Eric ( Donna) Worner of Smyrna GA; daughters- Jeanne Gerrietts and Patricia Ricketts both of Urbana, Ann(John) Pingry of Cottage Grove , WI; sister- Dorothy(Bob) Alexander of Pekin, IL; 11 Grandchildren and 17; Great-Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter- Nancy Cattell and brothers- Earl Reiners, Don Reiners, Mary Ellen Bruns. Ruth worked as a secretary for the University of Illinois. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Champaign. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing Bridge.In Ruth's earlier years she was a member of a ladies singing group that performed at weddings and special celebrations.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 6:00 PM at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, IL 61802. Pastor Cheryl Palmer will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5-6:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11:00 am on October 21, 2023 at Green Valley Cemetery, Green Valley, Illinois.
