Ruth M. Warren, 91, of Urbana died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Center, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. The Rev. Dr. Terry Ewing will officiate. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel.

Mrs. Warren was born March 8, 1918 in Patricksburg, Indiana, the daughter of E. Gern and Clarissa Fiscus Beecher. She married Alfred R. Warren on September 12, 1944 in Champaign, Illinois. Mr. Warren preceded her in death on August 17, 1983.

Survivors include a daughter; Carol McClaine (Jeff) of Champaign, one sister; Ruby Romine of Point, Texas, one niece and two nephews. Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Mrs. Warren graduated from Tuscola High School in 1936. She worked at Fred A. Smith Lumber Yard in Urbana, then worked at the University of Illinois for twenty years. She was a member of University Place Christian Church, Champaign, where she also volunteered as an office secretary and was active in the church's Bible study groups. Mrs. Warren also volunteered her time at the Christian service and research organization, Empty Tomb, Inc.
