URBANA, IL- Ruth Marie Meier, 90, of Urbana, passed away at 12:20 A.M., Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 29, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL. Pastor Kurt Bockoven will officiate. Burial will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign. Visitation will be held from 9-11 A.M prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

Mrs. Meier was born March 18, 1919 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of John and Pauline (Schultz) Knirr. She married John J. Meier on November 20, 1942 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2006. Survivors include three sons, Jerry Meier of Peoria, IL, Stephen Meier of Urbana, Don Meier of Carmel, IN and a daughter, Nancy Meier of Newman, IL; 9 grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren and a brother, Paul Knirr of St. Louis, MO, also survive.

Mrs. Meier was a homemaker and member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Urbana.
