Russell K. Compton, 50, of Champaign, passed away at 9:17 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at Provena- Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. A memorial reception will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.

Mr. Compton was born November 16, 1961 in Urbana, Illinois to parents Thomas and Bertha (Derossett) Compton. Russell married Lannette Beeler on March 20, 1993; she survives.

Also surviving are children; Jason Compton (Brandy), of Leroy, Crystal Compton, of Urbana, Kimberly Long, of Chicago, brothers; Timothy Compton (Jennifer), of Champaign, Kelly Hutcherson (Marla), of Urbana, Jeff Hutcherson (Kim), of Ogden, and five grandchildren.

Mr. Compton worked in the Parts Sales department of O'Reilly Auto Parts. He enjoyed working on cars and houses and spending time outdoors.
