Obituary

Roy A. Norman, 86 of Savoy, formerly of Urbana died 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10 at The Carle Arbours in Savoy. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 16 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Rev. Chris VonHolten and Rev. David A. Norman will officiate. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana with Pastor Gary Gritton officiating.

Mr. Norman was born December 12, 1921 near Champaign, the son of William D. and Leona M. Lakey Norman. He married Marguerite Powers on June 28, 1950 in Urbana. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Connie L. (Rick) Roy of Mahomet; sons, Charles L. Norman of Savoy, David A. (Cathy) Norman of Ashburn, Virginia; brothers, Melvin A. (Patricia) Norman of Mahomet, Robert E. (Juanita) Norman of Wildwood, Florida; grandchildren, Bryan, Shannon and David A. Norman, Amy Eberling, Jenna and Timothy Roy and great grandchild, Kaylee Morrison. He is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Mr. Norman attended Urbana Schools and was a truck driver for Eisner Grocery and Weberg Furniture. He was a member of Four Square Family Fellowship and was an Avid Cubs and Bears fan. He Served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Fiji Islands. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 405 Pine St., Suite A, Normal, IL 61761.
