Roy D. Bloemker , 72, of Urbana passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Renner- Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Cremation Rites will be accorded.

Roy was born May 25, 1941 in Seymour Illinois to parents William L. and Mable I. (Hatfield) Bloemker. They preceded him in death. On June 16, 1962 Roy married Vicki Bothfuhr in Champaign, she survives. Also surviving our their four children, John D. (Valeni) Bloemker of Texas, Carl W. Bloemker of Homer, Tracy A. Bloemker of Urbana and Mark E. Bloemker of Cincinnati Ohio. Roy has three surviving brothers, Gerald (Jean) Bloemker of Urbana, Ralph (Eurlene) Bloemker of Venice Florida, Albert Bloemker of Urbana, one sister, Eunice Hubert of Sidney, eight grand children and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, one nephew and one great nephew.

Roy was a graduate of Urbana High School. He worked for the United States Post Office as a postal carrier and a clerk in the city of Urbana, retiring after thirty- six years. He also worked at the Urbana City Parking Garage for thirteen years.

Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling collecting knives and beer steins and playing cards. He was a great story teller, always taking about the "Big Fish" that got away.
