Ross Shepheard Jr., 82 of Urbana died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, October 03, 2008 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2008 at Curtis Road Church of God, Urbana. The Rev. Chris Smithy will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11.m. Monday at the church. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shepheard was born on March 2, 1926 in Urbana, the son of Ross and Lottie May Shepheard Sr. He married Marion L. Warren on December 31, 1948 in Champaign. She died on October 12, 2006.

Survivors include two sons; Steven Ross Shepheard and Robert Scott Shepheard both of Urbana, two daughters; Shirley Jean Davis and Sheryl Ann Reed both of Fort Myers, Florida, ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and five sisters.

Mr. Shepheard retired as a painter for the Urbana School District and was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 71 in Urbana.
