Obituary

Ross Raymond Reeves passed on to be with our Father in Heaven on September 11, 2016.

Ross was born on September 25, 1919 to Ralph and Nellie Reeves in rural Miles City, Montana. After a few years of no luck homesteading in N.E. Montana they moved to Garrett, Illinois for a few years of farming and then to Urbana living in a house across the street from Urbana High School where Ross graduated in 1937.

Ross was standing in line to enlist (USAF) after the Pearl Harbor attack and was involved in the Iwo Jima invasion and eventually occupied Japan. After the war Ross came back to Urbana doing various jobs to help support his widowed mother until he began his long career at McKinley Hospital on campus as a custodian. Ross enjoyed riding his Indiana motorcycle and fixing up older cars. He was a uniquely kind and humble man never marrying.

He is survived by his three nephews and their wives, Tim (Eleanora) Reeves of Urbana, Bill (Stacy) Reeves of Bozeman, Montana, Dan Reeves of Bozeman, Montana, sister-in-law; Janice Reeves of Bozeman, Montana.

He was preceded in death by his brother; Artie (Bud) Reeves, sisters; Catherine and Redith Reeves.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the Cartwright Cemetery, Tuscola. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.
