Rose Juanita Greear, 79, of Urbana, passed away at 10:48 p.m., Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Carle Hospital in Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday January 6, 2011 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, also at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday January 7, 2011 at the Edgewood Cemetery in Edgewood, Illinois. Minister Barry West will officiate.

Mrs. Greear was born to parents Jessie William and Gracie Bell (Williams) Doublin on March 16, 1931. She was a native of Blandville, Kentucky and resided in Urbana for the last 63 years. She married Roger Greear on November 11, 1961 in Urbana, and he survives. Also surviving are sons; Billy Joe Taylor, of Springfield, William Thomas (Sylvia), of Springfield, daughter; Patricia Zara (Vincent), of Eddyville, Kentucky, sister; Geneva Newton, of Paducah, Kentucky, brother; Richard "Pete" Doublin (Jane), of Eddyville, Kentucky, grandsons; Vincent Zara II, Jeffery Thomas, William Thomas, Jeffrey Zara, Nicholas Taylor, granddaughter; Diane Zara, and three great-grandchildren. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Jessie Ray Doublin, William J. Doublin, sisters; Lorene Ford, Georgia Mae Boyd, Velma Lee Watson, Glenda Teeters, Mary Ellen Thomason, and great-grandson; Aden Zara.

Mrs. Greear graduated high school in Kentucky. She was a member of Sidney Christian Church and enjoyed gardening, garage-sale-ing, and children. She was a devoted mother and loved her family and friends very much.
