URBANA, IL- Mrs. Rose Marie Breen, 87, of Urbana, Illinois passed away at 6:56 A.M., Thursday, February 8, 2018 at her home. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 708 W. Main St., Urbana, IL with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rantoul, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the church. Rose was born August 14, 1930, a daughter of Ed and Margaret Cleary Graham in Ludlow, IL. She married James Breen on November 21, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ludlow. He preceded her in death on June 23, 2000. Rose was employed by the Illinois Office of Public Aid, and the Illinois Department of Children & Family Service. She retired as Administrative Secretary from DCFS in 1990. Mrs. Breen was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, IL. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Guild and was very active in service to the Parish. She served on the Parish Council, as President of the Guild for two years and helped with the ministry of feeding the poor. Mrs. Breen also served on many different committees of the Parish Council and always answered the call of the Pastors to help in any way she could. Rose enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Michael and Patrick, and two sisters, Theresa Johnson and Agnes Gray. Survivors include a niece, Cathy Johnson McDowell(Mark) of Springfield, TN; two nephews, Gary Gray(Lynn) of Des Plaines, IL , Kevin Gray of Arizona; great nieces and nephews, Seth Harris, Heather Spilburg, Matthew Harris, Rebecca Lindstrom, Zoe Gray and Zac Gray. In Lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A very special thanks to her caretakers, Lorie Hughes and Shirley Hubbard.
