Ronald Dean Meade, 70 of Urbana, died at 3:26 a.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30 at Burchwood Baptist Church, 1701 Cresent Dr., Champaign where family will receive guests one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Meade was born August 16, 1939 in Danville, the son of Emil "Bill" and Mary Frances (Siddens) Meade. He married Martha Marie "Marty" Gilliland on June 1, 1972 in Urbana and she survives. Also surviving are his children; Tina Wright of Champaign, Bobby Meade (Becky) of Champaign, Chad Meade (Jami) of Urbana, William Meade (Erica) of Urbana and Roger Meade of Mahomet, six grandchildren, brother; William Meade of Westville and sister; LuAnn Bluhm of Atlanta, GA.

Mr. Meade graduated from Ogden High School and was in the Marine Reserve Unit in the Champaign County area. He was a mechanic and equipment instructor for rail road machinery at Illinois Central Rail Road and then later for HARSCO for over 38 years. He was a member of Burchwood Baptist Church, Champaign and enjoyed working with his hands through woodworking and mechanics.
