Ronald J. Hays 84 of Urbana died at 8:25 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana; Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hays was born on May 8, 1927 in St. Joseph, the son of Dwight and Hallie Kernodle Hays. He married Ilene Blaker on September 2, 1949 in Urbana; she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Ronna Simmons of Decatur, one son; Donald J. Hays of Fisher, three grandchildren; Darci Grenko of Urbana, Cole Hays and Kaden Hays both of Fisher and one great granddaughter; Kelsey Grenko.

Mr. Hays owned and operated Ron's Mower Shop in Urbana for 50 years.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Land of Lincoln Chihuahua Club, Nashville, Tennessee Chihuahua Club and the Chihuahua Club of America.
