Ronald E. Smith

Ronald E. Smith, loving husband, devoted father, and cherished son, age 56, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2:10 A.M. at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ron was born on July 23, 1950 in Princeton, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his loving father Elmer Smith of Allendale. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Kathy Smith of Champaign, his mother Betty Smith of Allendale, sons Billy ( Mandy) of Indianapolis and Sammy of Champaign, sister Ernestine Barger of Allendale, granddaughter Aubrey P. and soon to be grandson Ian, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

He worked at the Juvenile Detention Center in Urbana and enjoyed spending time fishing, following NASCAR with his sons, or just spending the time with his family. There will be a private service for family and close friends celebrating Ron's life. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory 1900 S. Philo Rd. is handling the arrangements.

The family requests no memorials; instead they request that in his memory that you spend the time with those you treasure on a beautiful Spring Day.
