Mr. Easter was born September 1, 1931 in Kankakee, Illinois to parents Gladys (Douglas) and Earl Easter. He married Dolores Baer on May 15, 1954 in Tinley Park, Illinois; she survives. Also surviving are children: Kathy Easter, of Villa Grove, Illinois, Dave Easter (Dianda) of Westerville, Ohio, Sandy Easter, of Villa Grove, Illinois, grandchildren: Kayla Easter, of Villa Grove, Illinois, Anthony Grimm, of North Carolina, Jessica Grimm, of Alabama, Sam Grimm, of Florida, Bo Bruce, of Georgia, Ruth Easter, of Alabama, Daniel Easter, of Ohio, and four great-grandchildren. Rollen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Easter.
Rollie worked as an electrical engineer at Caterpillar of East Peoria for 30 years. After moving to Urbana, he and his wife became members of the First Baptist Church at Savoy, where he was elected Deacon. Rollie was very active in the church and served as a Bible study leader. After retirement, he started his own computer business and volunteered at the Champaign County Forrest Preserve. He was never satisfied with the status quo. He looked at the world as an opportunity to challenge himself and others around him to make it a better place. He never stopped trying in every aspect of his life and he has left his imprint for all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church at Savoy or to the Carle Hospice Foundation. Condolences may be offered online at www.renner-wikoffchapel.com.
