Roger F. Flaningam Sr, 88, of Urbana passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Carle Foundation, Urbana. He was born on March 23, 1935 in Champaign, IL the son of William & Edna Mae ( Hoag) Flaningam. He married Cora Moody on March 28, 2006 in Urbana. She passed away on May 10, 2021. Roger is survived by children- Roger(Gail) Flaningam, Jr. of Urbana, Jim(Kathie) Flaningam of Urbana, and Shawn(Christine) Flaningam of Champaign, IL;  6 grandchildren, four  great grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, wife- Cora and brother- Donald Flaningam. Roger graduated from Urbana High School and enlisted in the Army in 1960. He worked for Local 601 as an electrician until his retirement in April 1997. He enjoyed horses and traveling. Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 PM on Monday, February 5, 2024 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 Philo Road, Urbana, IL 61802.
