Roger Lee Dorsett, 79, of Urbana passed away at 2:14 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Accolade on Pells, Paxton, Illinois. Roger was born on October 17, 1942 in Champaign, Illinois the son of Walter & Mary (Nicholson)Dorsett. He married Priscilla Boucher on September 14, 1974. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla; daughter- Linda Daniel of Homer; sons- Richard(Christina)Dorsett of Virginia, David(Nina)Dorsett of Deland; grandchildren-Amanda(Matt) Pruitt, Melissa(Chuck Glad)Dorsett, Trevor Dorsett, James Daniel, Elizabeth(Robbie)Blan, Kyleigh(Josh)Fitzsimmons, Lonnie Dorsett, Michael(Dakota) Dorsett, Nicholas(Kristin)Dorsett, Michael(Samantha) Boeji, Nicholaus Boeji, Bradley(Ellen)Boeji; great Grandchildren- Jordan, Zachary, Skyler, Kaula, Carter, Victoria, Kaiden, Lily, Jaxson, Charlotte, Chase, McKenzie, Madison, Maverick. Roger is preceded by his parents, son- Jack Dorsett and son-in-law Garry Daniel. He graduated from Urbana High School in 1961 and worked for Becks Country Store as an upholester for over 50 years. He was an avid Ruger collector. He won numerous educational awards on his knowledge of the Ruger rifle. Roger also enjoyed golfing and had a golf outing every Father's Day with his children. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 7 at 2:45 p.m. at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign, Illinois. Hank Sanford will be officiating.
