PHILO, IL- Rodney K. Egelston, 45, of Philo, Illinois, passed away at 9:26 A.M., Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, January 15, 2013, at Stone Creek Church, 2502 S. Race St., Urbana, IL. A reception will be held two hours prior (5-7 P.M.) at the church on Tuesday. Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rodney was born March 26, 1967 in Salem, Illinois, a son of Lyle and Paula Jean (Pare) Egelston. He married Jody Johnson on September 25, 2005. She survives. Also surviving are his parents of Urbana, IL, and two daughters, JoAnn Elise Egelston of Grant Park, IL, and Olivia Breann Egelston of Philo, IL. One brother, Greg Egelston of Urbana, IL, also survives.

Rodney graduated from Urbana High School and was self-employed. He was involved in many different sports throughout his life, especially football and wrestling and was currently coaching Central High School football and Kids Club wrestling. Rodney was also an avid fisherman.
