- Robert A. Hill, 44, of Urbana, passed away at 9:10 A.M., Thursday, May 20, 2010.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Major John Turner will officiate. A reception will be held from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hill was born January 6, 1966 in Urbana, a son of Richard and Marilyn Fisher Hill. He is survived by a daughter, Abigail Jean Hill of Mahomet, IL.; a sister, Martha (Philip) Anderson of El Paso, Texas, and two brothers, Richard M. (Bernice) Hill of Lemont, IL, and John T. (Wendy) Hill of Pittsboro, IN. Also surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Jill, Sarah, Tim, Bryce, Rachael, Tyler, Trevor and Sean.

Robert graduated from Urbana High School and attended the University of Illinois in Music Performance. He earned an associates degree from Olivet College in Kankakee, and he graduated from the Salvation Army College for Officers Training. He also graduated from the Henry Ford Institute in Dearborn, Michigan. Robert was an entrepreneurial welder and owned PORT-A-ARC Welding, and he was a member of various professional welding societies.
