Robert Keith Hanson, 86 passed away on April 8, 2024 in Urbana.  Keith was born July 27, 1937 in Savanna, IL, the son of Robert and Eleanor (Gilman) Hanson.  He married Joan Rinkenberger on August 5, 1962 in Cissna Park, IL.  He is survived by his wife Joan, of Urbana, four children, Brent (Keiko) Hanson of Castle Rock, CO, Ethan (Ernestine) Hanson of Mesa, AZ, Thane (Heidi) Hanson of Mahomet, IL, and Gretchen (Aaron) Webb of Oakland Park, FL.  A sister and brother, Ellen Tempe of Excelsior, MN, and Jim (Pat) Hanson of Cedar Falls, IA.  His grandchildren are Collin Hanson, Daniel (Lena) Hanson, Conor Hanson, Chloe (Andy) Casula, Kendall Hanson, Vaughan Hanson, Zach Webb, Lizzy Hanson, and Isaac Hanson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Joe Tempe.

Keith was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Champaign.  He served as a science teacher at Danville Middle Schools for 36 years.  He enjoyed gardening and tinkering around the yard. In his retirement, he volunteered with the Food Bank and Empty Tomb.  He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandkids.

The visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday April 10 and from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday April 11, with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m.  All services will be held at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1401 Devonshire Dr., Champaign.
