Robert "Bob" Irven Brand, 75, of Urbana, passed away at 2:01 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. A visitation will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana, Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with Masonic rites performed at 5:45 p.m. by the Centennial Lodge #747 A.F. &A.M. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 14, 2014, with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Philo with Military rites performed by the Urbana American Legion Post #71.

Mr. Brand was born July 30, 1938 in Champaign, Illinois to parents Irven and Marian (McCullough) Brand. He married Peggy Matsler June 18, 1961 in Champaign; she survives.

Also surviving are sons, Darrell Brand (Darcie), of Liberty Township, Ohio, Troy Brand, of Longview, Texas, brother, Lawrence Brand, of Tolono, Illinois, sister, Anita Gilliland, of Tolono, Illinois, and grandchildren, Katelynn, Kassidy, and Kooper. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant sister, Barbara.

Mr. Brand was a disabled veteran of the United States Army. He was a firefighter and dispatcher for the Edge Scott fire Department. Bob was also a member of the Champaign American Legion Post #24 and the Masonic Lodge.
