Robert E. Bounds 78 of Philo died at 7:05 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Champaign-Urbana Regional Rehab Center, Savoy.

There will be no public services. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bounds was born on June 11, 1933 in Assumption, the son of Cecil Tim and Ruby Stanfield Bounds. He married Bette McNabb on July 10, 1952 in Melrose she survives.

Also surviving are one son; Bob Bounds of Cincinnati, Ohio, two brothers; Wilford Bounds of Marshall and James Bounds of Dixon, California, one sister; Betty K. Stephens of Naples, Florida, two grandchildren and one great grandchild.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Bounds was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was a truck driver for the University of Illinois.

He was a member and past master of Centennial Lodge #747 A.F. & A.M. Philo and the American Legion.
