Robert J. Bosshart 84 of Urbana died at 12:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana and from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Champaign; Rev. Jeff Caithamer will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Champaign with military rites.

Mr. Bosshart was born on May 22, 1931 in Flora Park, New York, the son of John and Catherine Martin Bosshart. He married Lucille Wollenschlager on November 28, 1952 in Hampstead, New York, she survives. Also surviving are four children; Kathleen Kueker of St. Charles, Robert Glenn Bosshart of San Diego, California, Karen Hennis of Urbana and Amy Bosshart of Savoy, one brother; John Bosshart of Birmingham, Alabama, eight grandchildren; David Bosshart, Cristina Greene, Sarah Kueker, Jacob Kueker, Leah Heltsley, Ruth Christanson, Richard Pilla and Justin Pilla and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother; Roger Bosshart and one sister; Margaret Bosshart.

Mr. Bosshart was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a civil service instructor at Chanute Air Force Base, Rantoul.

Mr. Bosshart was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Champaign. He was a licensed pilot and loved engineering.
