Rita Marie Winchester, 91 of Penfield died 2:15 p.m. Sat. Mar. 31 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wed. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, The Rev. Joseph Hogan will officiate. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Penfield. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tues. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 South Philo Road, Urbana with Prayer Services at 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Winchester was born Mar. 16, 1916 at Penfield, the daughter of Joseph and Kathryn Nolan Gordon. She married Maurice Sandwell in 1935. She later (1956) married Earl Winchester in Danville who passed away in 1983. She is survived by a daughter-Judy Kay Brownfield of Urbana, son-Ted Sandwell of Urbana, a brother-Ed Gordon of Decatur, four grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and five brothers.

Mrs. Winchester was a homemaker and a Mothers helper who was entrusted with the care of several families' children in their homes over the years. She attended St. Lawrence School in Penfield and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana.
