Rita M. Scofield, 64 of Mahomet died at 1:01 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Clements Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Ms. Scofield was born on March 2, 1944 in Murphysboro, the daughter of Walter and Hazel Johnson Benson.

Survivors include six daughters; Jeannie Hatton of Rantoul, Eva Sabin Barneske of Dewey, Brenda Moran and Krissy Grondvold of Seattle, WA, Walterine Sabin and Leslie Ryan of Mahomet, one son; Lonny Sabin of Greenville, SC, one brother; Kenneth Benson of Royalton and one sister; Linda Stahl of Raleigh, NC, twenty two grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Rita Marie, five sisters and two brothers.

Ms. Scofield was Pentecostal.

She was a bingo player at the American Legion.

Ms. Scofield was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone.
