URBANA, IL- Richard "Ricky" Covert, 60, of Urbana, IL, passed away at 11:15 A.M., November 23, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. Prayers will be held at 12:30 P.M., Monday, November 25, 2013 at the Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center, 106 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana, IL, with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Champaign, IL. Ricky was born June 30, 1953 in Champaign, IL, a son of Monte Dale and Leora (Ross) Covert. Survivors include three sisters, Zeba Iman of Urbana, IL, Mona Dye of Champaign, IL and Vickie Lemmon of Ventura, CA; seven nieces and nephews, Geoffrey Wolfe of Houston, TX, Debbie Sherman-Corbett of Lake Orion, MI, Heather Sanders of Champaign, Kristin Hall of Camarillo, CA, Kimberly Lemmon of Camarillo, CA, and Hamza Ali Iman and Muhammad Iman, both of Urbana, IL. Also, three great nephews and two great nieces survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ricky graduated from Urbana High School and Parkland College, and was a retired computer software engineer. He was a member of the Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center and he enjoyed computers, gardening, fishing and spending time with his nephews. He will be remembered as a warm and giving brother and uncle, and for his passion for politics. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
