Richard "Rick" A. Slade, 55 of Rantoul, formerly of Urbana, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at home. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Rick was born June 19, 1962 in Urbana, the son of Jim Slade and Cindy (Powers) Slade. He is survived by his mother, Cindy of Urbana. He is preceded in death by his father Jim and step-father, Rich Matuzewicz.

He was a 1980 graduate of Urbana High School and was a forklift driver for Super Valu Foods for 23 years. Most recent he was employed by ConAir in Rantoul. Rick enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a life-long fan of the Chicago Cubs, Miami Dolphins and U of I Basketball.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Champaign County Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
