Richard R. Wickstrom, 78 of Urbana died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 at the Helia Healthcare Center, Champaign.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29 at the First Wesleyan Church, Urbana. The Rev. Derrick Ford will officiate. Burial will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 28 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.

Mr. Wickstrom was born on November 1, 1929 in Superior, WI, the son of Clifford and Isabel Quelch Wickstrom. He married Betty Esterholm on January 12, 1952 in Superior, WI, she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Cheryl Hutton of Urbana, brothers and sisters; Nadine Gordon of Duluth, MN, Caroline Little, Beverly (Frank) Goteleare, James (Marilyn) Wickstrom, Diane (Charles) Heytens and Linda Darnall all of Superior, WI, two grandsons; Daniel (Aerika) Hutton of Rantoul and Robert Hutton III (Betty) of Tolono, two granddaughters: Tammy (David) Ackley and Jennifer (Jamie) Bowling of WI, ten great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister; Valerie McDermott.

Mr. Wickstrom retired as a store room manager for Diamond Tool & Horseshoe in Duluth, MN.

A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was a Golden Glove winner while serving in the military.

He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Urbana, and troop leader for the Boy Scouts, very active in child evangelism, and licensed lay minister serving various nursing homes. He was an avid outdoorsman.
