Richard "Rick" Shoop, 75, of Urbana, passed away at 4:51 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital. A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 7, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Kerry Bean officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Mayview.

Mr. Shoop was born May 5, 1938 in Johnstown, PA to parents Richard and Elizabeth (Schweigher) Shoop. He married Judy (Butts) Anderson September 2, 1989 in Urbana, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are children: Susie Fisher (Jeff), of Tolono, IL, Scott Shoop (Emilie), of Heyworth, IL, step-children: Beth Anderson (Richard Zabel), of Paxton, IL, Lisa Staples (Dwayne), of Westerville, OH, Doug Anderson, of Los Angeles, CA, sister: Carol Stinson, of Platt City, MO, grandchildren: Stacy, Corinne, Andrew, Jordan, Carson, Timothy, Joey, and great-grandchild: Caroline. Rick was preceded in death by his parents.

After graduating from the University of Missouri Kansas City, Rick worked as Vice President for Pyramid Paper Company for 28 years. He then worked as Vice President of Twin City Tent and Awning for ten years before retiring.

Rick had many interests, but foremost was spending time with his family. He especially loved watching his grandchildren's events. He also enjoyed traveling, Disney, playing cards, golfing, bowling, and attending craft shows. His favorite holiday was Halloween.
