Richard D. Oliver, 86, of Champaign passed away at 10:25 a.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the Philo Road Church of Christ, 2601 Philo Rd., Urbana. Evangelist Richard Miller will officiate. Burial with military honors will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Church.

Dick was born in Decatur on December 10, 1931 to parents Herbert and Glacia (Sunderland) Oliver. They preceded him in death as did his sister Betty Riley.

On April 9, 1959 Dick married Kay Long in Enid, OK., she survives. Also surviving are their children; Angie (Sam) Zahnd of Champaign and Dean (Nancy) Oliver of Champaign. His brothers; Bill Oliver of Decatur and David Oliver of Houston, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survives him.

Dick retired from active duty with the United States Air Force after twenty years of service. After retiring from active duty, he continued to work for the Department of Defense for the next 17 years.

His Christian home was the Philo Road Church of Christ where not only was a member but served as an Elder for 22 years.
