Richard David Newman, 82 of Fisher, formerly of Urbana, died at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 16 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana.

Mr. Newman was born July 30, 1932 in Champaign, the son of Charles and Ethel Newman. He married Ruth M. Newman in 1958. He is survived by a son Scott Newman of Urbana, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son, Steve.

Mr. Newman is a graduate of Urbana High School, served in the US Navy during the Korean War and was a machinist at the University of Illinois for 35 years. He was a member of the Urbana Elks for over 50 years.
