Richard "Dick" Mattlin, 74, of Urbana, passed away at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2012 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Pastor Jim Hollis will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday March, 10, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery, Tolono.

Mr. Mattlin was born February 13, 1938 in Urbana, Illinois to parents William and Olga (Jergerson) Mattlin. Dick married Florence Carter on October 4, 1964 in Covington, Indiana; she survives. Also surviving is daughter; Sandra Mattlin, of Urbana, Daughter-in-law; Rachel Mattlin, of Sadorus, Illinois, sisters; Jean Holloway (James), of Tucson, Arizona, Shirley Oliger, of Mahomet, Illinois, brother; Don Mattlin, of Midland, Texas, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Danny Mattlin, one grandson; Danny Mattlin, Jr., two brothers; Bill and Kenneth Mattlin, and one sister; Ruth Kemple.

Mr. Mattlin worked in the bookbinding department of the University of Illinois for 35 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Urbana.
