Richard Eugene Dalton Sr., 75 of Champaign passed away at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at Presence Covenant Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel, Urbana. An hour visitation will be held prior to the funeral. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post #71.

Richard was born in Monticello on April 21, 1939 to parents Veston and Virginia (Richardson) Dalton. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers.

On November 21, 1960, Richard married Phillis Franklin, she survives. Also surviving are their five children, Teresa Ruth of Salem, Oregon, Richard Dalton Jr. (Veronica) of Champaign, Faron (Dee) Dalton of Bloomington, Brian (Angie Mickelson) Dalton of Seymour, Carroll Dalton of Champaign, 21 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Richard joined the United States Army in 1956. After his service he worked as a security guard at People's Gas in Fisher until he retired.
