Richard A. Cook, age 47, of Mahomet, died 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at home. Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana. Rev. Michael Smith officiating. Private burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, Dec.17 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cook was born in Detroit, Mich. on March 30, 1959, the son of Aaron and Evelyn Miller Cook. They preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Jayne A. (Grizzle) Cook of Mahomet and sisters, Marilyn Januszko of Mahomet and Suzanne Cook of Detroit, Mich. He graduated from East Detroit High School and attended Motech Automotive Education Center in Lavonia, Mich. He was a service technician for over 25yrs., working the past 18 yrs. at Worden - Martin in Champaign. Among other awards, he received the GMC 5 Star performance award numerous times and was respected in his field. Rick played a vital role in setting up the Glitchers R C Club in Mahomet where he enjoyed racing radio controlled cars with his buddies. Rick was a handy craftsman and found great pleasure helping friends and neighbors with projects and home improvements.
