Rev. Walter Cleon Scott, 89, of Urbana, IL, passed away at 3:22 P.M., Sunday, February 18, 2018 at his residence in Urbana.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M.,Saturday, February 24, 2018, at McKinley Memorial Presbyterian Church, 801 S. 5th St., Champaign, IL  Renner-Wikoff Chapel, 1900 S. Philo Rd., Urbana is assisting the family with arrangements.

Walter was born May 12, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN, a son of Cleon and Edythe LaVerne Perry Scott.  He married Nancy Ruth Beernink on August 25, 1951 in West Allis, Wisconsin.  She survives.  Also surviving is a  daughter, Rachel Eichelberger Hilst of Linden, IN, and two grandchildren, Kelly Stephens Springer(David) of Greenwood, IN and Calvin B. Eichelberger of Mackinaw, IL

Walter was preceded in death by a son, Richard Andrew Scott, a daughter, Karen Ruth Stephens, and a sister, Martha Scott Johnson Keeney.

Walter graduated from Monmouth College and the Pittsburg-Xenia Theological Seminary and was a Presbyterian minister for over 40 years.  He was a member of Blackhawk Presbyterian PCUSA.
