Ray N. Meyers 89 of Urbana died at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, Rev. Kris Light will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Urbana with military rites accorded. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mr. Meyers was born on March 18, 1927 in Champaign, the son of Robert W. and Thurza S. Sells Meyers.

Survivors include his girlfriend of 25 years; Shirley Shaw of Urbana, two nephews; Wesley (Mary Beth) Meyers and Douglas (Patricia) Meyers both of Champaign and a niece; Sandra McIlrath of Madison, Alabama along with several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one brother; J.W. Meyers and two sisters; Ruth Brownfield and June Dunn.

Mr. Meyers was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.

He was a retired carpenter for C.P. Bauman.

Mr. Meyers was a member of University Place Christian Church, Champaign, Carpenter's Local #243, American Legion Post 71, and the Urbana, VFW Post 630, Urbana.

He loved woodworking.
