Obituary

Ralph Palmer Stolte 83 of Urbana died at 1:22 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at home.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Champaign. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Mayview. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Stolte was born on November 7, 1931 in Hannibal, Missouri, the son of Ralph Loren and Dorothy Palmer Stolte. He married Mary Helen Quattrocchi on October 28, 1950 in Hannibal, Missouri; she died on March 8, 2003.

Survivors include three sons; Gavin (Patti) Stolte of Champaign, Darien (Stephanie Schuler) Stolte of Aurora, Brandon Stolte of Lindenhurst, two daughters; Denise (Alan) Verploegh of Wausau, Wisconsin, Michelle (Mike) Martin of Cape Coral, Florida one sister; Barbara (Gerald) Akright of Hannibal, Missouri and five grandchildren; Seth (Sara) Martin, Aaron Martin, Sienna Stolte, Evan Verploegh and Sophie Martinkus.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; Ray Stolte and Jack Stolte.

Palmer was a district sales manager for Motorola communications for over 30 years.

He was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Urbana, where he sang in the choir. Palmer was an avid golfer enjoying playing with his friends at the U of I Golf Course. He also was an accomplished singer who entertained fans for years with his beautiful tenor voice.
