Ralph E. McCoy Jr. 69 of Champaign died at 9:16 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at home.

Private services will be held. Burial with military rites will be held at Eastlawn Cemetery, Urbana. Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McCoy was born on July 7, 1944 in Champaign, the son of Ralph Edward and Ella Anna Wildenradt McCoy. He married Reyna Gonzales McCoy on June 25, 1983 in Champaign, she survives.

Also surviving are one daughter; Marina K. Scarano of Tallahassee, Florida, one brother; Charles McCoy of Champaign, one sister; Agnete (Leonard) Miller of Redondo Beach, California, one granddaughter; Sophia Scarano, two nephews; Jarred, Leonard Jr. one niece; Ella Anna and his dog Blondie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother; Dennis McCoy.

Mr. McCoy graduated from Champaign Senior High School in 1963.

Prior to entering the service, he was employed by the old Sears Roebuck and Company in downtown Champaign. He retired from the University of Illinois O & M division.

Mr. McCoy was a Sgt. U.S. Marine Corp Vietnam veteran, 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division.

He enjoyed designing decals, older cars going for rides in the country with his wife and being around family.
