Ralph Isaac Mangan, 78, of Urbana died 11:35 P.M. Saturday, October 7, 2006 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at the Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana, IL. Elder Forman Pursley will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Mangan was born on March 3, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of Richard Leach and Beatrice Adams Mangan. He married Margery Springer on January 20, 1956 in Compton, California, she survives.
Also surviving are one son; Victor Mangan of Garland, Texas, four daughters; Sherry Wilson of Plato, Minnesota, Cathrene Meyer of Dunnigan, California, Laura Hunter of Champaign, IL and Nora Whipple of Leesville, Louisiana, two sisters; Gladys Burns of Sterling, IL and Irene Smedley of Staples, Minnesota, nineteen grandchildren and Thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, three brothers and one sister.
Mr. Mangan was a Machinist for Turner Brass and later Cooper in Sycamore, IL.
He was a member of the Metalworker's Union and enjoyed bowling, golf and music he also participated in the Senior Olympics in Dekalb, a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran who served during peace time.
