Phyllis Jean Wingler, 74, of Urbana, died 5:04 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2009 at Carle Foundation Hospital.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel 1900 S. Philo Rd. Urbana, with a visitation two hours prior. Rev. Harry Aughinbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Phyllis Wingler was born February 4, 1935 in Champaign County a daughter of Everett and Alta Napier Schoonover Sr. She married John Wingler Sr. October 27, 1951 in Clinton, IL. He survives.

She is also survived by six children John (Nancy) Wingler of Lancaster, TX, Ron Wingler of Urbana, Linda Wingler of Urbana, Laura (Kevin) Potts of Thomasboro, Brenda (Steve) Hester of Urbana, and Nancy (Chris) Grob of Urbana; two sisters Joyce (Millie knee) Scott, Lois (Gene) Ard; two brothers Luther Schoonover, and Everett (Zella) Schoonover; thirteen grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, and a grandson.

Jean Wingler loved cats, enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking.
