Peggy Ann Valentine, 90, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at her home. She was born on July 6, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of William & Geraldine(Jones) Fleming. Peggy is survived by her children-Richard Valentine of Urbana, Gary Valentine of Urbana, Steven Valentine of Champaign, Tim Valentine of Champaign and Julie(Andy Mingee)of Champaign; son in law- Frank Gaines of Fithian;14 Grandchildren; 26 Great Grandchildren; 12 Great Great Grandchildren; brothers- Bill(Anita)Fleming of Monticello, Freddie Fleming of Washington State; sisters- Pat McClellan of Monticello and Ida Wakefield of Ft. White, Florida. She is preceded by her parents, former husband Charles "Sparky" Valentine, children; Chuck Valentine, Cindy Gaines, Phillip Valentine, infant granddaughter- Jennifer Gaines. Peggy graduated from Champaign High School in 1949. She worked as a bookkeeper for Solo Cup and Family Services. Peggy enjoyed bowling and was on leagues at Western Bowl & Urbana Bowl. She also enjoyed nature and animal watching. She was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball and Green Bay Packer fan. Graveside service will be at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Grandview Memorial Gardens. M. J. Martin will be officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. at Renner-Wikoff Chapel. M.J.
