Peggy J. Barber, 91 of Mahomet passed away Friday May 26, 2023 at Heritage House Care Center, Gibson City.

Peggy was born April 11, 1932 in Mahomet, the daughter of Herbert Edward and Almeda Fern (Baker) Grindley.  She married Don Coffey and after his passing, she married Andy Barber who also preceded her in death.  Through both marriages she resided at and enjoyed the Brady Lane community in Urbana.

She is survived by one brother, Herbert Grindley, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.

She worked at Rick's IGA in Champaign until retirement.  She enjoyed gardening at Bridle Brook Assisted Living, Mahomet with her niece Renee Green.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday June1 at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory with visitation 1 hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Pastor Hank Sanford will officiate.  Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Sidney.
